First this stream will only be available ‘God willin’ and the creek don’t rise.’
This stream (listed at the bottom of this posting) will only be available on December 18, 2014 starting a few minutes before 2pm for James Lee Radcliffe’s Memorial Service. The stream should be live during the service, however, the stream is set to record and if all goes well, it should be up after the service as well on ustream via the channel page listed below.
In other words we can’t watch over it during the service, so we can not guarantee this stream will be available or for how long. If bandwidth is absolutely terrible, the stream may break down entirely or become intermittent. We have to use our own Verizon Wireless for the Internet access as the funeral home’s system is a closed system.
Second, because of all this, we will likely not have time to do more than start the stream and hope for the best once the Memorial Service for my Jim starts.
Given all that, when the time comes (up to –give or take– 10 minutes before the memorial starts), we will have everything set up and begin the stream. I will try to get close to the table so you all can see what is on the table before setting the tripod down and letting it do its thing during the service.
If this does not work as intended, we offer our sincere apologies.
We will try to also record audio of the service to be posted to the blog later and some snapshots to accompany the audio in a new Photo Gallery for the service itself.

James Lee Radcliffe Memorial Service – 12-18-2014 at Ustream.tv
The streaming videos will show up on that page. Please feel free to to chat on the page with others who are watching. I will treasure the conversations later after the memorial is over and life tries to return to normal.
* Special thanks to Adam for the Logitech webcam we will be using for the stream.
Also, once we get everything set up in the Chapel at Nelsen Funeral Home, I will try to put up a test feed, call it a warm up set, if you will. Jim would like that. This way we can be sure all is working well prior to the actual service. It won’t be a long one, but it too will be recorded.
NOTE: A note from Jim’s cousin Frank in an email on 1/11/2015:
The video of the Memorial Service was very nice and everyone’s comments, memories, and thoughts were surely a tribute to Jim. The display on the tables was just right and I know each object would have told volumes.
You are so right Frank, each object would have told volumes. I have many more momentos from Jim as well. Those just gave a sampling, a rather small but unique sampling. You can see more clear images and some closeup images by viewing the following photo album:
